Bitterweet Success Gains on the track, losses off of it.
Imperial, PA - Saturday, May 05, 2007 - Following last week's rainout, tonight marked just the secon week of racing at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway for the 2007 season. It also marked the first competition to take place at the venue following the death of promoter Red Miley. Miley lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, May 3rd at the age of 53. The entire RebelYell Motorsports team would like to extend their condolences to the Miley family at this difficult time.
Despite this loss, the show went on as planend, and what a show it turned out to be. From Late Models to Young Guns the night's racing was fast and action packed. This was espeically true for the RebelYell Motorsports #10 Pure Stock.
Although they were workign with a crew staffed at jsut half its normal capacity, the RebelYell Team enjoyed a very impressive run. During his heat race, driver Nick Kocuba worked his way from a distant 8th place starting spot through the pack to a respectable 4th place finish. The good run continued into the feature as Kocuba was able to fend of a quick Danny Rich (subbing in the Joe Anthony 69X) and race to a 2nd place finsh, his best of the year.
In addition to these on-track activities, the RebelYell Motorsports team will also be on hand at the following locations this coming week:
Thursday (5/10) - 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at LANXess Corporation, RIDC Park West
Saturday (5/12) - 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Colonial Beer Distributor, McDonald, PA
